The University of Primorska is a medium-sized, youthful, flexible, and strongly internationally engaged university operating in a multicultural and open coastal environment. It is characterized by a high degree of responsiveness to changes both internally (research and studies) and to the needs of the local environment.
Its six faculties offer a wide range of programmes in a broad spectrum of study areas with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity and a rich selection of additional activities for student life. UP Faculty of Management

 

 

 

The Faculty of Management (UP FM) is the first Slovenian faculty specializing in management with more than 30 years of tradition. It is a business faculty whose mission is education and research in social sciences and business administration with an emphasis on management. It offers modern study programmes at all levels – undergraduate, master’s and doctoral. The study process is designed to be flexible and includes practical lectures, project work and cooperation with the business sector. Students participate in international exchanges, professional excursions and entrepreneurial workshops, which allows them to connect with industry while still studying. One of the key advantages of studying at UP FM is the quarterly system, which allows students to complete their study obligations on an ongoing basis, and a schedule that is also friendly to individuals who study while working. UP Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies

 

 

The Faculty of Mathematics, Natural Sciences and Information Technologies (UP FAMNIT) offers study programmes at all three cycles and is active in research in mathematics, computer science, informatics and natural sciences. It works closely with the Andrej Marušič Institute (UP IAM) and is involved in international research. UP Faculty of Tourism studies - Turistica

The UP Faculty of Tourism Studies – Turistica is the first faculty in Slovenia to teach tourism in a multidisciplinary way, with the goal of sustainable development, and has been doing so for over 30 years. It offers studies at all three levels, designed in such a way that the theoretical knowledge acquired during the studies is linked to practice. A wide range of international activities provides students with numerous opportunities for knowledge exchange, travel, guest lectures, and research around the world. Studies take place in a pleasant Mediterranean environment, where tourism is part of everyday life. This allows students to experience the pulse of the tourism business environment during their studies and establish lifelong friendships and business contacts.

UP Faculty of Health Sciences
The Faculty of Health Sciences (UP FVZ) offers study programmes at all three cycles. At the undergraduate level, it offers two professional study programmes – Nursing and Nutritional Counseling – Dietetics, and two academic programmemes – Applied Kinesiology and Physiotherapy. At the master’s level, it offers five programmes: Nursing, Dietetics and Clinical Nutrition, Applied Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, and Physical Education. It also provides a doctoral study programme in Prevention for Health. UP FVZ is closely linked to society and the business sector, primarily through the inclusion of students in clinical and practical training, where they gain valuable experience directly in the work environment, and through the organization of various informal forms of lifelong learning. UP FVZ has its own research programme in the field of health, and is recognized and actively involved in both the international and local environment. Through its work, it contributes significantly to the development of a sustainable and high-quality future in the field of health.

UP Faculty of Education

UP Faculty of education offers various study programmes at all cycles, with a focus on first-cycle programmes: the academic study programme in Pedagogy, the academic study programme Primary School Teaching (specializing in Primary School Teaching and Primary School Teaching for Institutions with Italian as the Language of Instruction), the academic study programme Social Pedagogy, the academic study programme Visual Arts and Design, and the professional study programme Pre-school Teaching (specializing in Pre-school Teaching and in Pre-school Teaching for institutions with Italian as the language of instruction). Study programmes are offered as full-time study, or as full-time and part-time study, or as part-time study only. Some study programmes are also carried out at the faculty’s branch campuses. There are also many extracurricular activities (girls’ choir, boys’ choir, orchestra, theatre group, a very active Student Council and a tutoring system).
