Humanities

In everyday conversation, the humanities are the overlooked counterpart to the natural sciences, which, like the social sciences, deal with humans, but with what humanity creates and gives meaning to its existence. Perhaps in the past or even today (archaeology, history, anthropology) and with different approaches (philosophy, ethics, religion), communication (linguistics, literature, philology) and expressions (cultural studies). All of this is, of course, stored in the treasure troves of knowledge (librarianship, archiving).
