Our environment is increasingly interwoven with various machines, materials and ways of obtaining them. All of this falls within the field of engineering and technology – how and where we live and move (architecture, urban planning, logistics, transport, navigation, construction, geodesy, engineering) and shape our environment (textiles, clothing, graphics, multimedia), how we obtain and manage energy and materials (mechanical engineering, mechatronics, energy, geology, mining, geotechnology, materials, metallurgy, electrical engineering, electronics, technology, engineering), how we organize and communicate information (computer science, information technology, telecommunications), and how we ensure their safety and our own (security, safety science, police).
